About

Based on Wathaurong country in regional Australia, Pernickety Split is a boutique studio working primarily in new media and immersive with a focus on creating multidisciplinary projects that change the way we look at the world and each other.

Our work has been shown around the world, at Sundance New Frontier, Venice Film Festival, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, IDFA, SXSW Austin, MIT, Adelaide Festival, Kunstahl Charlottenburg and the Experimenta Triennial (2025-7) among others.

We’ve spoken for MIT Open DocLab, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, University College London, and the Heide Museum of Modern Art, have mentored in workshops for Adelaide Film Festival’s Expand Lab, Screenwest, the South Australian Film Commission and CPH:LAB, and were named one of Screen Producers Australia’s Ones to Watch for 2022/3. We also like writing grants, like a weirdo, if that’s what you’re looking for.
